“Undocumented individuals”

Words matter. They can be used for good by inspiring people to become their best or they can be used for evil like inciting deadly insurrections.

“Illegal alien” has always been a nasty dehumanizing term used against people fleeing desperate situations in search of a better life here in the United States. While they have indeed broken certain laws, we have allowed flawed laws within a broken system to persist for decades. At this point, we are all to blame for today’s undocumented immigration problem.

So let’s consider treating our fellow humans who contribute so much to US society with decency and respect. These people are simply “undocumented individuals” in search of a better life - as we all are.
